Biography
Michael Sam Maguire was born in November 1954 in Islington, London, UK. He was educated at Parmiter's Grammar School and left (aged 16) with a handful of A/O levels to pursue a career in Racehorse Stud Management.
A fabulous 2 years at Brewhurst Stud (Loxwood) followed before he was offered a journalist's position on The Sporting Life. During his time at Brewhurst he had submitted various freelance equine articles to magazines & newspapers and this had paved the way to a great job on one of the UK's leading newspapers.
Michael Sam Maguire continued with freelance contributions to magazines in the UK, Australia & the USA. Both horse & greyhound racing became his passion so it wasn't long before he turned his hand to novel writing.
His first racing thriller Shot Silk was warmly received so (as they say) a new career beckoned.....
