Biography
The Author, Mr Alexander Obeng-Gyabaa was born on 29th September, 1955 at Danyame in the Dormaa Municipality. He has a Masters degree in MA Local Government Administration from Institute of Local Government Studies (ILGS), a combined Honours Degree in French and Russian language from University of Ghana, Legon-Accra, a post-graduate Diploma in Public Administration from Ghana Institute of Public Administration (GIMPA), Greenhill-Accra, and a diploma in Russian language at Pushkin Institute, Moscow. He served for twenty-nine years in the Ghana Civil Service as Coordinating Director at two Regional Coordinating Councils and six Districts Assemblies in Ghana.
Mr Alexander Obeng-Gyabaa has to his credit books on Ghana’s Civilization compared to that of La Cote D'ivoire (April, 1994), Civilization in La Cote D'ivoire (compiled in july, 1989 and revised in February 1991 and april, 1995), Senegal (December, 1989 and revised in April, 1995), Togo (1989), and Ghana (April, 1994 and revised in July, 2003).
In addition to these, he has fourteen commentary books on French and African literature dating from 1986. They include: L'etranger (compiled in august, 1986 and revised in january, 1987, 1988, and august,1990), Sans Famille (compiled in october 1989 and revised in october 1999), Michel Strogoff (1987), Candide (september, 1989), Colomba (September, 1986), L'Avare (April, 1986), L'enfant Noir (compiled in october, 1986 and revised in september, 1991), N'zi le Grand-Guerrier D'Afrique (compiled in july, 1987 and revised in december, 1990), Sous L'orange (compiled in january, 1989 and revised in april, 1989), Une vie de boy (compiled in january,1988 and revised in september, 1989), Xala (august, 1989), Pain Sucre (compiled in march, 1994 and revised in november, 2002), L'argent ne fait pas le Bonheur (january,1994) and Le Mandat (augest, 1988). His latest book on French language (Structure Vocabulary and Appropriate form of words) which was written in 2006 seeks to provide the basic structure for the french language at the senior high level.
