Wrote several pulp novels for American Art Enterprises, listed as an expert in 15th edition of Bartlett's Familiar Quotations, president of SDBA, president of SDBAA, produced the Surf Blurb for many years, published several books, was a great bodysurfer at Boomer Beach, helped preserve the Red Rest and Red Roost cottages - which are on the National Trust for Historic Places, son of author Madeline Tabler (M.T.McDougal, Clementine Cartwright pseudonyms) and James G. Tabler (electrical engineer, boat designer/builder, clarinet player after Benny Goodman) brother of Michael Tabler (lifeguard, bodysurfer, sailor extraordinaire - MBYC, Assessor for the County), bookdealer since 1982, bookstore: Joseph Tabler - Books in Hillcrest 1989-1999, played guitar, flute, piano (a keyboard CD was produced by his friends of his playing titled The Keys to Serenity), wrote cartoon gags in his younger days, sober from March 29, 1975 til his death in .....
