Biography

Vertie Pringle-Reid was born in Sumter, South Carolina the eldest of seven children. Her Mother left the Southern states and moved her family to Newark New Jersey, in the year of 1957.
Vertie met and married Randolph Reid and out of that union they had four children. In 1971 she confessed her sins, accepting Jesus as her Lord, and was on a spiritual high ever since.
Thereafter, Vertie's hunger for the Word of God directed and led her to attend Manhattan Bible and Christian Bible Institute. After raising her children, Vertie heard the call from God, and began to foster children with special needs. Her faith was challenged caring for children who were wards of the state, and yet, along with working for Division of Youth and Family Services, Vertie began became a sponsor and offered her home for women who were wards of the state from Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD).
She remains active preparing youths to minister in Nursing Homes, and every 1st and 4th Sundays Vertie and the youths who are called "Smile Bandages Family Jewels Dance Ministry" visits and minister to the elderly at nursing homes in Plainfield New Jersey. Vertie have been blessed with four adult children and thirteen grandchildren.
Her husband Randolph has retired, and as the Lord directs them, they are committed to continue fostering children and caring for adults in their home. They are surrounded by friends and family, and reside in South Plainfield, New Jersey.
