Biography
Andreas Psomas was born at Phterykha, Kyrenia District (Cyprus), on 11th March 1931. Graduating from Kyrenia Secondary School in June 1948, he attended Morphou Teachers' Training College. He worked as a teacher until May 1955 and he continued his studies in Melbourne University (B.A. Mathematics), at the Columbia University (M.A. Education) and finally at Stanford University (Ph.D. Education - International Relations). He worked in several Secondary Schools in Cyprus and Australia, at Deree College in Greece, as well as at Stanford and Harvard Universities and at the Greek National Center for Social Research. Until his death in 1991, he held the post of the Secretary General of the World Association for International Relations.
