Biography
Sunil Pullarcot is a post graduate in Mechanical Engineering having more than 32 years of industrial experience, nearly one third of which is in oil & gas industry.
During his three decades of service, he had worked in the industry in a multitude of disciplines like, QA/QC, Engineering (Static & Rotating Equipment), Project Management, Construction Management and Commercial and that too in different roles as a manufacturer, a consultant and finally as owner.
Based on the vivid experience he gathered over years, he established himself as accomplished trainer on topics related to Pressure Vessels, Storage Tanks, Plant Piping, NDT and Welding etc., during the last two decades. Due to geographical advantages, these training programs were offered principally for Oil & Gas companies in ASEAN and middle east regions.
In his endeavor to pass on the valuable and unique experience gained over three decades to the forth coming generation, Mr. Pullarcot have authored a book titled "PRACTICAL GUIDE TO PRESSURE VESSEL MANUFACTURING" published by M/s Marcel Dekker Inc. New York in 2002.
Subsequent to the above, he authored five articles on various topics for the benefit of practitioners in renowned international journals as below.
• Article on “Optimum Specification & Quality Requirements for Pressure Vessels” published in the February 2007 issue of the Hydrocarbon Processing journal from Huston.
• Article on “Defect Analysis of an Ammonia Storage Tank ” published in April 2007 issue of the Hydrocarbon Processing journal
• Article on "Risk Based Inspection (RBI), a Panacea for plant failures???” was published in May 2009 issue of the Hydrocarbon Processing Journal
• Article on “Quality Audit & Reporting for Pressure Vessels Manufacturers” published in November/December 2009 issue Inspectioneering Journal
• Article on “Review of radiography ” published in June 2012 Issue of World Pipelines Journal from UK
Right now he is in the process of publishing his second book “Above Ground Storage Tanks- Practical Guide to Construction, Inspection & Testing" through M/s Taylor & Francis. The book deals with entire construction activities involved in erection of above ground storage tanks, with all finer details which often are not documented or considered relevant, especially for the benefit of beginners in this field. The book is likely to be in the market by June 2014
