Biography
I’ve been a full-time freelance writer since 1992, when I graduated from Western University with my Masters in Journalism.
Prior to that I worked at a couple of newspapers – one in Bowmanville, Ontario, and another in Surrey, B.C.
As a freelancer, I’ve written thousands of articles for newspapers, magazines, newsletters, reports, and websites of all descriptions. I’ve profiled individuals and businesses, reviewed movies and restaurants and written features about everything from video game developers to city politicians to golf putters.
More than decade ago, I started teaching journalism at Western University, in the Faculty of Information and Media Studies. Had I known years ago how much I would enjoy teaching, I might have pursued it earlier. But I’m thrilled to be able to teach writing to a bunch of talented kids every year, while continuing my own writing as well.
