Born in Texas, she is the daughter of Lowell Edison (a family doctor) and Christine (a homemaker). She married Bobby Edward Also-brook
Rosalyn R. Alsobrook told CA: "After a five-year hiatus to take care of my mother, then my brother, who died in 2001 and 2002, I've finally returned to writing. The going is a bit slow right now, but the drive is back. I hope to have book number thirty finished soon."
She won the Lifetime Achievement Award, Romance Writers of America, in 1999.
She also wrote under the pseudonyms Jean Haught, Jalynn Friends, and Gina Delaney
