Biography

Born in Thornaby and educated at London University

He served during the war years with the Green Howards and was mentioned in despatches.

He taught modern languages at Middlesbrough High School later to become Marton sixth form college.

He wrote a number of books some in conjunction with Jean Cadix, Ralph Fletcher with illustrations by Claude Chopy and Constance Marshall. He was a chief examiner for the London Board of examiners, and was an active member of the Assistant Masters Association where he became chairman.
