Violet Roan states - "The poetry book Emotions was inspired by a variety of friends, family, relationships, and experiences of myself and of the people closest to me. The book is entitled emotions because the material causes the reader to search with-in themselves to open the emotions they tend to hide from themselves and others. This book is meant to give examples of thoughts and experiences that affect everyone at one point or another in their life, and to perhaps bring out a different perspective of what should, could, or would have been, had they thought differently about a particular person or even. I've also included some statements to consider such as: "The one who runs from their emotions will never show any true devotions." and "Contradictions of one is the understanding of one another in some cases of utter confusion." The illustrations with-in the book entitled, Emotions, were contributed by my children. Some of the artwork consists of finger paintings my son Codey made for me when he was three years of age, and others are contributions of my son Derricks as well. The cover is actually a portion of one of the finger paintings that I originally corresponded with the poem “The End.” but then my editor and I decided to utilize half of the picture for the poem and the other half for the cover. I decided to utilize the art the boys had given to me, to show them that I appreciate the many things they make for me, and the pictures reminded me of the work I had done. When I look at a picture, I see the words inside, and I'm hoping that others will also have the ability to experience the emotions that flow from the pictures once the words have been imbedded upon the mind…
