Biography
Tanja Nayak grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa and enjoyed safaris in the Kruger National Park during the July winter holidays. She grew to love wildlife as a result.
She lives in Colorado today and released her second children's book about diurnal animals: "Spot's Busy Day in the Bushveld," which is about a cheetah cub and the animals she meets on the African savannah. She wanted to write a book about cheetahs because they are renowned for their style, grace, and determination.
She chose to write her first children's book ("Stripe's Busy Night in the Bushveld") about honey badgers because she believes that honey badgers can teach us a lot about perseverance. They are her favorite animals because they are intelligent, cute, and energetic.
The author had many photographs of her own to share in her books, but also chose to carefully curate photographs that showed the animals in the best light from Shutterstock.
Working with a talented artist was a great experience for her and also a professional book designer who could bring everything together in an attractive way.
The finished products are really quality ones and Tanja is delighted with the results of her first two forays into children's literature and to be able to share her first book in paperback, Nook, and Kindle format. Her second book is available in paperback, Ebook, and hardback format.
She is grateful to her mother for always encouraging her to read and to her father for fostering her love of nature. She is also grateful that her family has very been supportive of her desire to become an author (and don't mind rising at 5:00 am on vacation so that they can be out the camp gates when they open and spotting wildlife with the sunrise.)
