Biography

He was born in Zhitkovitsh (Zhitkovichi, Zhytkavichy), Byelorussia. He studied with private tutors. In 1906 he emigrated to the United States. He worked for many years as a tailor. Initially he lived in New York and later in Florida. Among his books: Fun zhitkovitsh iber der velt, a teyl epizodn fun mayn lebn (From Zhitkovitch throughout the world, some of the episodes from my life) (New York, 1972), 314 pp.; Vortslen fun der mishpokhe granadir, fun zhitkovitsh biz amerike (Roots of the Granadier family, from Zhitkovitch to America) (West Palm Beach, 1979), 243 pp.
