Biography
Dr. Margaret Trusler Fisher was born on November 28, 1901, to Ira Thompson Trusler (1866-1906) and Katherine Pearl Roberts (1869-1905). Margaret had three older brothers and one sister. They were: John Roberts, born in 1891; Mary, born 1893, married Chester McPherson; Harold Milton, born 1897; and Eldon Napoleon, born 1899.
Dr. Fisher was awarded the degrees Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy in English from the University of Chicago. Dr. Fisher was professor of English at Butler University, Indianapolis, Indiana. She was retired in August of 1972 as Lecturer in English from the Department of English of Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis, having been elected to membership in the Indiana University Emeritus Club on May 13, 1972.
